Two people in one Short, with an automatic split screen
A video podcast or an interview shows two people side by side, and a vertical screen has no room for both across its width. When two people are clearly visible, Nysos stacks their faces in two panels, one per person, and places the captions in the middle, on the seam. It is all automatic, with manual reframing if you want to correct it.
How it works
The split screen triggers by itself
When a shot shows two people clearly, Nysos switches to a split screen: two stacked panels, one face per panel. The animated captions sit in the middle, on the seam between the two.
Fix it by hand if needed
On the clip’s page, “Reframe manually” lets you place two stacked frames, and “Back to auto framing” restores the choice Nysos made. The “Split” button adds a photo or a video below your clip.
When the split screen kicks in
The split screen is automatic: it appears when two people are clearly visible, which matches the classic conversation shot of a podcast or an interview. The result is made of two stacked panels, 1080×960 pixels each, with one face per panel. It triggers by itself as soon as you start the processing.
The decision is made shot by shot. If the camera moves to a single guest, the framing that follows that face takes over again; if a shot becomes hard to read, the video can be centred on a blurred background. A single clip can therefore alternate between several compositions, depending on what the source shows.
Captions on the seam
In a split screen, the captions are placed in the middle of the picture, where the two panels meet: the faces take the top and the bottom, the captions take the centre. The spoken word is highlighted as it is said, in the style you picked among the six available, or you can choose no captions at all.
The style (Nysos Pro, Storytime, Punch, Anime, Casual or Clean) is chosen in the form, in a preset, or afterwards from the clip’s page, then regenerated. The position is decided by Nysos: on a podcast split screen, it is the middle. The font and the colour come with each style.
With three or four people on screen
The split screen is made of two stacked panels. On a wide shot with three or four people, Nysos groups neighbours together: each panel holds a group, so a panel can show more than one face.
You stay in control of the layout: manual reframing with two frames lets you choose what each panel shows, with the Top frame for the top panel and the Bottom frame for the bottom one.
The manual Split: your clip on top, a photo or a video below
There is another “Split”, separate from the automatic split screen. From a clip’s page, the “Split” button opens the Smart Reframe studio with your clip on top: you pick a photo or a video for the bottom, and the title sits in the middle. It is useful to accompany your clip with an image or another video.
This Split is your own choice, whereas the podcast split screen is a decision Nysos makes from what the video shows. In the Split, the sound comes from the top, meaning from your clip. The two do not serve the same purpose: one recomposes two people from a single video, the other adds a second piece of content under your clip.

How do I put two people in a Short with a split screen?
